Raveen Abdullah

Communications Officer

Raveen Abdullah is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in humanitarian, academic, and diplomatic settings. She holds an MSc in the sub-specialty of Trauma and PTSD from Hawler Medical University, along with two Executive Diplomas: one in Diplomatic Practices from UNITAR (Switzerland) and another in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy, jointly awarded by UNITAR and IACA .

With extensive experience, Raveen has worked with IOM–UN Iraq, NGOs, and government agencies, collaborating with UN bodies and local partners to implement programs on emergency health response, durable solutions, climate and health related initiatives, as well as strengthening government systems and improving quality standards.

Her work emphasizes protection, women’s empowerment, and the prevention of gender-based violence in humanitarian contexts. She has supported IDPs, refugees, and host communities by leading community-based initiatives , social cohesion, and MHPSS programs, while managing strategic communication campaigns that deliver meaningful impact.

At the IGN, Raveen will apply her expertise in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategy to strengthen the visibility and impact of the Institute’s projects. She firmly believes that transparent communication is essential to overcoming challenges, fostering collaboration, and achieving lasting, effective solutions.
