Open Volunteer Positions

​Volunteers are the driving force of the Institute for Global Negotiation. All of our projects, initiatives and events are executed by members of the Institute passionate to promote negotiation as a tool to address global challenges and foster cooperation. As we are globally oriented, the overwhelming majority of our work is done remotely.

 

As the IGN is growing and our activities are increasing, our network of academics and practitioners is rapidly expanding. We are always looking for bright minds seeking to make a difference and join one of our teams.

Global Negotiation Support (Project)

Project Coordinator: Jérôme Bellion-Jourdan

Interested in UN dynamics and global negotiations? The new Global Negotiation Support (GNS) initiative is seeking volunteers for two strategic roles:

Role 1: Chair’s roles and prerogatives (Desk Research)
Tasks include researching academic publications and practical UN materials on the roles of Chairs/Facilitators in multilateral negotiations, producing annotated lists, and summarizing key insights.

Role 2: Global Negotiation Landscape (Mapping & Monitoring)
Tasks include developing methods to map and monitor ongoing UN negotiations and Summits, tracking official documents and timelines, and preparing regular strategic updates for GNS.

Both roles offer direct exposure to multilateral negotiations and insights from GNS Lead, Jerome Bellion-Jourdan, with opportunities to refine the scope based on your background and interests.

Negotiating for Climate Action (Project)

Project Coordinator: Randall Waechter

​Fundraising Director for Climate Action

Currently halfway through its first iteration, this project equips young climate entrepreneurs with the necessary negotiation skills to successfully implement their local climate action projects. The project encompasses a training course with experts, as well as a mentoring programme that matches the youth with experienced climate advocates in their countries of residence. The project team is now looking for a Fundraising Director for Climate Action to raise funds for the current and future iterations of the project.

Journal for Global Negotiation (Project) 

Project Coordinator: Frederik Nühnen

The Journal for Global Negotiation is seeking:

...a detail-oriented and creative Layout and Graphic Producer, responsible for formatting written content that aligns with our design standards, as well as re-designing author’s graphics to enhance the overall presentation of the research.

 

...a diligent and communicative Events and Outreach Officer, responsible for coordinating smaller events, such as workshops and webinars, and help promote the Journal's activity.

 

...a meticulous and communicative Proofreader and Language Specialist, responsible for ensuring the grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency of the Journal’s content, refining language to meet academic standards, and ensuring adherence to referencing and style guidelines.
