Semia Parmenter
Head of Communications
Semia Parmenter is a communications professional with over a decade of experience spanning diplomatic missions, international NGOs, financial services, and the private sector. She believes in the power of communications to flag important issues, start necessary conversations, and connect people across the globe to drive positive change — a philosophy that has shaped her work across strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
Her career has included roles at the Swiss Embassy in London, where she built the social media presence for the Swiss Business Hub UK & Ireland and supported Swiss SMEs through export and trade promotion initiatives, and at the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association, where she shaped the organisation's digital strategy and led its flagship conferences and campaigns, helping to advance the conversation on sustainable and responsible investment.
Semia currently serves as the Communications Lead at the World Benchmarking Alliance, where she supports the development and delivery of WBA's communications strategy, translating insights into clear key messages across its channels to strengthen the organisation's reputation and positioning as it works to hold the world's most influential companies accountable on their sustainability performance.
She is excited to take on the role of Head of Communications at the Institute for Global Negotiation and looks forward to further building the organisation's communications strategy, strengthening its brand, and growing awareness and support for its mission.
A passionate traveller, Semia has lived, worked, and explored across multiple continents, and finds that immersing herself in different cultures fuels both her personal curiosity and her professional commitment to building bridges. She holds a BA in Social Sciences from the University of Zurich and a Master's in International Communications from the University of Leeds.
