Senior Fellow
Dr Zaza Johnson Elsheikh MBBS PG DiPLO has worked as a Commercial, Family and Workplace mediator (accredited by CEDR, ADR and Globis respectively) since 2006. Zaza is a Home Office approved Ideological Mentor and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators as well as an International Commercial Arbitrator. Zaza’s mediation style and approach are informed by her former careers as a Medical Doctor and Solicitor. Having a cross-cultural and inter-religious personal background, helps Zaza to explore the impact of cultural and religious nuances on the root causes and resolution of conflicts. This interest is reflected in her facilitation of interfaith online dialogue about complex issues on a bimonthly basis and is Chair of Nisa Nashim, a Muslim and Jewish women’s network. By becoming a Senior Fellow at IGN, Zaza hopes to deepen her understanding of the breadth of traditional conflict resolution approaches that exist in different jurisdictions, and the ways in which those methods can be accommodated within western dispute resolution processes to improve disputants’ comfortability whenever possible. Furthermore, as the President of the Sudanese Legal Network (UK), Zaza regularly fundraises and delivers humanitarian assistance to Sudanese refugees in Egypt and Ethiopia.
